We Los Angeles Music Teachers enter Fall of 2017 with great enthusiasm.  Our job is to  bring the magical gift of music to our children.  Our task is to nourish and cultivate music in our schools so that the Los Angeles children have the opportunity to grow in their  general music, choral and instrumental music education and perhaps carry it through the rest of their lives.  There is now scientific evidence that music students make better math and science students and have better spacial intelligence and problem solving minds than those students who are not educated in music.

On July 22nd, 2017 members of LACESMA were informed that our dear colleague, Patrick Ridolfi had passed away.   He will be sorely missed.  He was a dynamic, giving, talented elementary music teacher who had a transforming way of teaching music to children. He was also an extremely gifted singer.  He will be sorely missed.  We offer his wife and sons and the entire Ridolfi family our condolences.
